"Tex Fest" is the fifth episode in Season 1 of Bella and the Bulldogs. It first aired on February 7, 2015 to 1.85 million viewers.

Overview

Bella volunteers to act in Pepper's video project for a town festival; Troy and Newt join the choir, where they experience a role reversal.

Plot

Ace McFumbles announces the Tex Fest on a horse in school and gets detention. Troy wants Newt to join the choir, but Newt is nervous, until Troy convinces him that Sophie will like him more. Meanwhile, Sawyer and Sophie challenge each other to the pepper eating contest after a prank Sawyer did to her, but was meant for one of his other friends. Newt is nervous to sing in front of everyone and Troy thinks he's going to sing awful, so he convinces the girls to clap, but Newt is a very good singer when he's not facing the girls and Troy. Pepper writes the scripts for a video for Tex Fest, casting Bella as Miriam Ferguson, the first female governor of Texas and Ace as her assistant. When Bella sees the footage, she thinks she is doing an awful job and she quits the video. Ace then replaces Bella's role and ends up doing a worse job of it, leading Pepper to quit as well. Later Sophie cons Sawyer into eating 11 red peppers then reveals that she was eating sweet peppers as Sawyer screams in agony. Newt with Troy's help, overcomes his stage fright, and Pepper decides to change her video into a tribute to Bella, using Bella's voice, obtained when she told Pepper not to quit after the second take, as her inspiration.
